employee motivationYou hear it from your friends and/or relatives: someone who works for a medium to large company got awarded an employee anniversary pins to commemorate the years serving that company or corporation.

It shouldn’t surprise anyone that companies throughout choose to celebrate their employees in this way, as for the old adage says: “a company is only as good as its employees”.

It is often hard for companies to find the right personnel that will not only be able to do the job but most importantly share the vision, the culture of the organization, let alone to expense and headache involved in training new personnel. They want to keep the good ones.

How do they keep the good employees?

By making them feel appreciated. Some choose money rewards, or perks, promotions, and some choose public recognition in small to large galas where the honor their employees in certain ways.

How do they use lapel pins to celebrate employee’s anniversaries?

Corporate Logo Lapel Pins: NIA

pin-nia

  • Product: Lapel Pins
  • Style: Die-Struck
  • Plating: Bronze
  • Colors: Hard Enamel

The NIA lapel pin is a good example of an elegant corporate pin made to be worn on a corporate environment: it is small, incorporates the bold and beautiful corporate logo and its bronze plating gives it that jewelry-like look achieved by hard enamel pins.

This lapel pins could easily be turned into and award pin by using sandblast for its background and maybe adding a rocker pin (secondary pin attached to the back of the main pin, which lands on the bottom of the latter one) for the years of service.

Years of Service Pins for “The Republic of Texas”

pin-republicoftexas

  • Product: Custom Lapel Pins
  • Style: Die-Struck
  • Plating: Black Nickel
  • Colors: Hard Enamel

This lapel pin is a little sample of a very larger of award pins, with several different denominations for the years.

Even if our minimum order is stated as 100, or 50 pins, we can also accommodate smaller orders with little changes like this one.

The little ‘trick’ we did, in order to make produce a classy lapel pin and at the same time make it cost effective, was to struck one design, to use hard enamel colors, which provided us with a smooth surface and then print the individual year of service over the hard enamel color.

This is one of the many combinations we come up to help our customers create a great quality product with excellent perceived value at the best cost.

Die Struck Antique Lapel Pins for Gothic XX

pin-gothicxx

  • Product: Custom Lapel Pins
  • Style: Die-Struck
  • Plating: Nickel Silver
  • Finish: Antiquing

Even if we design and manufacture lapel pins on a daily basis, sometimes we don’t foresee how nice a design will look once the finished product is ready to ship.

When we saw how these die-struck antique pins turned out, the only thing that came to mind was wow, how beautiful they look!

It is great when the right combination of factors, such as size, design, plating and finish is chosen.

These pins resemble the look of pewter pins, which are manufactured using a different process, and sometimes a more expensive one.

We bet the customer is happy with them, and will update once we hear from them :)

Custom Printed Lapel Pins: The Technical Arts

pin-technicalarts

  • Product: Lapel Pins
  • Style: Offset Printed
  • Size: 1.25in
  • Backing: Military Clutch

We really like these printed lapel pins, because they show many of the reasons why someone would use a printed lapel pin instead of a die-struck one:

1. Gradients: both the outer rim and the center have gradients, which is a no go for a die struck pin

2.White text on blue background: Die-struck pins are color-filled, in the same way a child’s coloring book works – colors are separated from each other by using black (for pins it would be metal) outlines.

3. Very small detail: the amount of details that can be accomplished by die-struck pins are limited by the malleability of the metal used, which is usually a minimum of 0.5 pt., and for a printed pin, it is almost infinite.

The shine you see in this lapel pin is due to the epoxy coating, a thin layer of epoxy is used to protect the colors from fading.

The appropriate pin for your project is most time depending on how much we can maneuver your design, as most designs start with a printing conception which is then transformed in a die-struck appropriate one.

When in doubt, just ask!

Hard Enamel Pins Showcase: Reba Alliance

pin-rebaalliance

  • Product: Lapel Pins
  • Style: Die-Struck
  • Plating: Black Nickel
  • Colors: Hard Enamel
  • Size: 1.25in

These Reba Alliance Pins are a good sample of a two-color combination pin, made with bold designs and a great finish, as our hard enamel pins are the top of the line for lapel pins.

The right combination of style, plating and finish will depend mostly on the use the lapel will have. In this case, the pins needed to be classy, with a strong and durable feeling, almost jewelry like, therefore the hard enamel colors where the no-brainer choice.

If these pins were to be given away, the customer could have chosen a printed pin, or a photo-etched pin style – which are far lighter and thinner than die-struck hard enamel ones-.

But that was not the case, the customer wanted the wearer to make a statement and to carry their logo and message with pride.

We are very happy with the way these pins turned out.

Suicide Prevention Pins To Support National Survivors Of Suicide Day

It is estimated that 30,000 people commit suicide annually, effecting up to seven million lives. In order to raise awareness many are wearing yellow awareness pins in the days leading up to, and around National Survivors of Suicide Day. The use of these suicide prevention pins helps to create awareness for the cause, in hopes of dramatically dwindling the annual numbers of those lives lost by their own hands.

National Survivors of Suicide Day always falls on the Saturday before Thanksgiving, making it November 19th this year. Suicide numbers tend to increase as the holiday seasons approach. Many become extra lonely and depressed, urging on their suicidal tendencies. This is the ideal time to reach out.

It is estimated that every 40 seconds someone in the world dies by suicide, which leaves all of their friends and family to try to make sense of it and understand what went wrong. Many will blame themselves, many will blame others, regardless of the blame they’re all left saddened and confused.

With the increase in bullying problems and the economic troubles of the world, both teens and adults alike are left with thoughts of ending their life. All it takes is one person to reach out and save them. Just one person to show some care and concern.

yellow ribbonWearing yellow suicide awareness pins can convey to others that suicide is a large problem and one that needs to be addressed. Wear your yellow pin everywhere, every day, and explain to those who ask, and those who don’t know what it represents. The more people who are aware of the problem, the more people who can reach out to those in need.

This is the 13th year of the National Survivors of Suicide Day, and each year more and more people is getting involved. The more that become involved the more of an impact they can make on those who need our help.

The National Survivors of Suicide Day isn’t just to remember those who have died or to prevent future suicides, but it is also to help friends and family members of victims to mourn, cope, and be able to move on with their lives. Though no one ever forgets their loved one, they do need to return to some sense of normalcy after the suicide of a loved one.

Everyone has been touched by suicide, even if not directly. Whether is a friend or family member to has taken their own life or to even just reading about a suicide in the paper. We can all agree that suicide is preventable and we can all make a difference. Reach for your yellow awareness pin and spread the word about National Survivors of Suicide day, you will help save a life and improve one already touched by suicide.

“We” – 3D Soft Rubber PVC Lapel Pins

  • Product: 3D PVC Lapel Pins
  • Material: PVC
  • Size: 2″ x 1″
  • Back: Military Clutch

We definitely love this pvc lapel pin. It is a very nice design, made in 3D and at 2″ x 1″ a great size, so it will be noticed and it will get people’s attention. The 6mm thickness gives them some substance as well.

How can you use pvc lapel pins? Why would you use a pvc lapel pin instead of a metal die-struck one?

Applications can vary, pvc items are mostly attached to items that are used outdoors, just think about those pvc charms that kids used and still do, attached to their rubber clogs.

Years of Service Lapel Pins : Unity Hospital’s Award Pins

Just as the end of the year approaches, organizations big and small like to show appreciation for their employees in various ways.  Years of service pins are very popular one, as it usually involves public demonstration and pinning ceremony, which is always very appealing to those receiving them.
This time it was Unity’s Hospital‘s turn and the result was just great.
When using lapel pins in award and recognition programs, it is very common to create different versions of the lapel pin that will represent the different levels of accomplishment being recognized.

The most common on is to use different platings, and in this case the customer also wanted to include different designs as well, so every year of service pin is different in both design and plating.

Unity’s Hospital used:

  • Antique silver (pewter) for the 10 years of service pin
  • Antique bronze for the 20 years of service pins
  • Silver sandblast for the 30 years of service pins and
  • Gold sandblast for the 40 years of service pins.

Unity Hospital’s human resources team put a lot of thought and care on the design and execution of these pins, which shows how much they care about their recognition program, we are sure that was also noticed by employees being recognized.
